To read korean characters is very simple once you memorize the characters. Wouldn’t it be fun to read anything in korean? :)

I personally am not good at learning other languages. It is mostly because I cannot memorize things with only sound. If you are one of them, probably, this might not be the necessary step, you would think.

For the people like me, I will begin with korean characters.

Basic concept :

1. Like English, it has vowels and consonants and by combining them, it creates sound to pronounce words.

2. it has 14 basic consonants and 6 basic vowels. Do not worry about other combined consonants and vowels. They are very easy to learn, once you know the basic characters. :)

3. How to pronounce them is most difficult part. I believe. :) About this, you have to accept one thing. Each group of languages has different pronunciation.  You can find similarity to grip a concept but that does not mean that it sounds like one.

For example, ? is NOT like g or k at all. I would rather say it is something between. This kind of understanding has to be set before you begin learning korean characters.
